This cabin is everything that was pictured and promised by Airbnb. Though we arrived super late on a Saturday night, Google Maps navigated us right to the destination without issue. We came during the months of June and July so we didn’t have any problems with road conditions. We (unexpectedly) rented a fully electric Volvo C40, but it had no problems surmounting the gravel roads leading to the a-frame cabin. Thankfully, the owners left the floodlight on for us, and the grounds were clear for us to haul our luggage inside. Check- in was similarly flawless. Our code to the front door let us in immediately and we proceeded to make ourselves cozy. Alex joked that the owner is one of the toads we saw hanging around the front steps.

Loft Area

Being just the two of us, we opted to sleep in the big upstairs loft. Our bed was comfortable and positioned so that we woke up to natural light in the mornings. Going up and down the tight, spiral stairs is a little precarious but we still loved them! They compliment the overall ambiance of the cabin.

Amenities

The cabin includes everything we could need for a relaxing and chill vacation. The owners outfitted us with plenty of board games and equipment for almost every lawn game outside. We played a round of horseshoes one afternoon; debate continues as to who victory truly belongs. We could never work out how to connect one of our phones to the Bluetooth speaker, despite the posted instructions. The turntable the speaker is attached to is more compelling. The records on hand lean heavily towards classic country. We eventually settled on a Chet Atkins record as background noise for Taylor’s birthday dinner. I believe there is a Roku but we never utilized it, there’s far too much entertainment in and around the cabin to just watch TV.

Things to do around the cabin

There is a Wal-Mart that was about twenty minutes away to load up on food and supplies beforehand. Nic provides a binder with a guide to plenty of local options if you’re looking to dine out. Most are within half an hour of the cabin. If you end up with an electric car like us, that same Wal-Mart has a quick charging station for J1772 plugs!

Cell service was terrible. Which is great because we wanted to be secluded, but there the cabin’s Wi-Fi is great!
